What does baling wire gauge mean?
Wire gauge is simply a measurement of wire diameter. Baling Wire Direct's goal is to ensure you receive the right gauge wire for your specific material, application, compression and bale size.
A common misconception is that the larger the gauge number, the thicker the wire. Well, its actually the opposite...the larger the number the smaller the wire. (Example: 10 Gauge Wire is thicker/stronger than 11 Gauge Wire).
Please refer to the American Wire Gauge Chart (AWG) which is standard in the United States. The chart helps identify specific wire gauges based on diameter in inches and/or millimeters.
