About the Recycling Industry and Baling Wire

The types of balers used include:

Vertical Balers

  • Vertical Balers or downstroke vertical balers are used for baling all types of materials from cardboard and plastic to metal and textiles. A vertical baler compacts the material from top down, then single loop bale ties are used to tie off and secure the bale for transport.
  • Vertical Balers and galvanized single loop bale ties are commonly used by grocery stores, department/retail stores, clothing donation stores, recycling facilities and other low to mid-volume facilities that produce recyclable waste.

Horizontal Balers (Manual Tie Horizontal Baler and Auto-Tie Horizontal Baler)

  • Manual Tie Horizontal Balers can handle high volume of recycled material. They are similar to a vertical baler but the ram compacts the material from the side and are fed via a conveyor. Single loop bale ties are also used to tie off and secure the bale for transport.
  • Auto-Tie Horizontal Balers can handle a high volume of recycled material and are usually used by large recycling facilities or more commonly referred to as MRFs (Material Recycling Facility, Material Recovery Facility). Auto-Tie Horizontal Balers are designed for constant processing of material where the baler is fed via a conveyor and the baler is equipped with an auto-tie system to automatically tie off and secure the bale for transport. Two types of wire can be used including black annealed box wire or galvanized hi-tensile stem wire.

Job Description

The candidate must have a proven track record of inside and/or outside sales experience.  An in-depth knowledge of the Waste and Recycling Industry would be a plus and willingness to learn. The candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work remotely with little to no direct oversight. They will be responsible for prospecting, cold calling and growing new business within an assigned territory. This position will report to the Central Region Outside Territory Manager.

Responsibilities

  •  In Person Cold Calls - Outbound Phone Cold Calls
  •  Travel within Assigned Territory as Needed to Develop New Relationships and New Business
  •  Grow Net New Business
  •  Manage New and Existing Business within Assigned Territory
  •  Foster New and Existing Customer Relationships
  •  Work Closely with the Central Region Outside Territory Manager to Develop New and Unique Strategies to Grow New Business
  •  Provide Excellent Customer Service and Product Knowledge
  •  Deliver Positive and Critical Feedback to all Team Members to Ensure We Continue to Grow and Enhance our Product Line
  •  Conduct Business with Honesty and Integrity

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Proven Track Record
  • 3-5 Years of Industry Sales Experience or Related Experience
  • Self Stater and require little to no direct oversight
  • Track Record of Meeting or Exceeding Goals/Quotas
  • Sales Skills (Prospecting, Cold Calling, Negotiating, Closing Skills)
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Willingness to Learn and Adapt
